Using wildflowers to restore habitats

Using wildflowers to restore habitats
29th May 2013 Lawn UK

The decline of native wildflowers in the UK is becoming a huge problem. BBC One’s Countryfile reported over the weekend that in the last 70 years alone, 30,000,000 acres of wildflower meadows have been lost.

Wildflower meadows provide crucial sources of food and habitats to pollinating insects such as bees. Lots of work is currently being done around the UK to help re-introduce wildflower meadows in both rural and urban areas.

All of our wildflower mixtures contain species supported by the RHS perfect for pollinators scheme, and can be used to help reinstate an important British habitat.

Try a Wildflower mixture yourself, starting at just £7.50.
