Lawn UK is proud to support the RHS Perfect for Pollinators scheme. Our aim is to help support wildlife in gardens, particularly bumble bees.
Already in agriculture, large government backed schemes are in place, with special seed mixtures being supplied to farmers to help protect pollinating insects. The RHS re-launched its own version of the scheme at Hampton Court flower show, designed to be more garden friendly. The scheme involves the publication of a list of plant and wildflower species that are fantastic for pollinating insects.
We are delighted that all of our wildflower seed mixtures already contained species recommended by the list, and now we are making extra effort to make wildflower seeds available to everyone.
Wildflowers are becoming increasingly popular in the UK as a result of widespread media coverage. They were heavily featured in many of the award winning show gardens at Hampton Court flower show.
