Have you ever tried to design a wildflower seed mixture? At Lawn UK, we’re giving everyone the chance to design their own wildflower seed mixture, using our online form. It’s free, fast and easy to complete. The winner wins 1kg of their seed mixture (which will cover up to 400m2), and their mixture will become a permanent product on offer by Lawn UK.
You can use anything you like in your mixture. Typically, a blend of 80% grasses, and 20% wildflowers works very well, The grasses help to control weeds too, because wildflowers hate competition. Remember though to avoid using grasses like ryegrass, because these are too aggressive. Good species to use are things like: Red Fescue, Meadow Fescue, Sheeps Fescue, Bentgrass, Sweet Vernal Grass and Meadow Foxtail. Also why not include some Yellow Rattle? This too will help control grasses.
