Bermuda grass seed is rated for its exceptional heat and drought tolerance; it can also withstand heavy use and can repair itself quickly. By having these qualities, it allows many lawn owners to use Bermuda grass for its durability and flexibility. While it has an aggressive growth rate which can make Bermuda grass difficult to control, however, this supports the characteristics of heavy use. Therefore, Bermuda grass is the preferred grass for golf course tees and athletic fields.
Bermuda grass can require more maintenance compared to other grasses, monthly fertilisation may be required during peak growth. It may also be necessary to mow twice a week during this period, at a recommended height of 1 to 1.5 inches for home lawn.
